Capacitance matters more on an instrument cable than on any other kind. A high-impedance pickup driving a long, high-capacitance cable loses high-frequency detail before the signal ever reaches your amp - the familiar dull, veiled sound on a long run. Low capacitance is what keeps the top end and the pick attack intact.
